Mortlach Game is run by Steve Wright and his partner Emma and seemed a natural progression from Steve's earlier career as a stalker and organiser of stalking and sporting breaks for others.
"Both of us were brought up on eating and enjoying most types of wild game and venison, and we've therefore long been keen advocates of the healthy attributes of sustainably sourced, correctly handled and properly prepared wild venison and game. Now we're able to share this most delicious, natural, and free-ranging wild meat resource with others"
"For a good number of years now we've been extolling the virtues of locally sourced wild venison and game, and since we've started offering our produce to the public we have been greatly encouraged by the overall receptiveness and positive feedback from our customers. It's also been a very rewarding (and at times exasperating!) challenge for us to encourage a change in both attitudes toward wild venison and game, and to encourage variety in the day to day eating habits of some of those we meet at the Farmers Markets we attend. We've also made some very good friends along the way!"
